Gay White Professional Male who resides in San Francisco.  Yet, there is so much more that defines who I am. I'm an eternal optimist. I never regret poor choices made, I simply try to learn from them. Life has given me so many fantastic experiences, and I do look forward to the next "chapters" in life. Hume Cronyn, the late actor, once said, “I find it very difficult to sit. I would love to learn to do that with contentment.” That quote will be appropriate for my tombstone once I live to be 100, or perhaps I will still be roaming the earth at the ripe young age of 101. As cliche as it may sound, I see life as a journey, full of experiences; meeting new people, seeing new places and watching the sunset on a new horizon

Originally, I hail from the beautiful Flint Hills of Eastern Kansas. I obtained my BFA in Communication at Emporia State University, and I am so happy I attended a small state school.  That's where I found my self-confidence. And, I am proud to be a "frat boy." Go Phi Delts! After college I resided in Kansas City for seven years, followed by one year in St. Louis, and then moved West to San Francisco where I have been planted since early 2005. Yes, I do consider myself a bit of a transient and I am proud of that fact.

I have reached a milestone in my career; one decade as a human resources/organizational development professional.  I have had the fortunate opportunity to create and implement strategic organizational development programs that will have long lasting, revenue-saving effects for companies large and small. My career goal for the future? That goal has changed, very recently.  I would like to leave the corporate world for academia.  It would give me great pleasure to be the director of a career services department at a university, assisting college students to make a successful transition from college into "the other world."

So many people have hobbies; art, cooking, gardening, bike riding. My hobby, my passion specifically, is that of a story teller.  I love to write, and I have begun writing "my novel."  It's beginning to take shape.  My aspiration is to be a published author.

It cannot be denied, I am a political junkie.  This addiction is evident with my constant watching of news programming (the only television I watch), reading of newspapers, and my contributions to the Op-Ed sections.  Oh, and as my friends will be quick to point out, I have a difficult time restraining myself from political discussions.  I get this addiction from my father, but how funny it is that he is a Republican and I became a Democrat.

Additionally, I am passionate about reading biographies, working out, travel, photography, wine tasting, preparing a "home-cooked" meal for friends, major league baseball, college hoops, my family, watching a sunset from a cozy porch swing and learning the true meaning of song lyrics.

Finally, I consider myself a giver for the right cause.  I never hesitate to donate money to National Public Radio (NPR), Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), the Friends of the Public Library, finding a cure for AIDS and any attempt to impeach George W. Bush.
